About the Campaign Finance Data

FPPC campaign finance statements mandated under state law are filed in the CAL 2.01 data format supported by the California Secretary of State. The datasets can be downloaded to many common formats including Excel, CSV, and JSON.

Datasets – Campaign Statement (FPPC Form 460)

Once a campaign committee has raised or spent $2,000 or more it must file Form 460, which contains an overview of the committee’s activity during a specified period. Each schedule of the campaign finance statement is parsed into a dataset that contains the same schedules filed by other campaign committees.

Dataset –Late Independent Expenditure Report (FPPC Form 496)

Late independent expenditures ($1,000 or more) made in the 90-days prior to an election.

Dataset – Late Contribution Report (FPPC Form 497)

Late contributions ($1,000 or more) made in the 90-days prior to an election.

Dataset – Local Oakland Disclosure Requirements (OCRA Form 303)

Any Oakland public servant required to file a Statement of Economic Interests (Form 700) who successfully solicits a political contribution of $5,000 or more from any person or entity that contracts or proposes to contract with the official’s department must disclose the solicitation to the Public Ethics Commission within 30 days.
