IMPORTANT NOTICE:

  • Due to the high volume of applications, the City of Oakland is putting a pause on accepting applications as of May 17, 2021, 5 pm.

  • Starting May 18, 2021, you may apply for rental assistance through the State of California’s COVID Rent Relief Program. The State will be accepting applications from all Oakland tenants and property owners.

  • To apply through the State program visit: https://housing.ca.gov/covid_rr/program_overview.html#landlords

  • The City of Oakland expects to reopen its portal for additional applications in July 2021

The City of Oakland operates two anti-displacement programs to assist low-income tenants and homeowners who are at risk of losing their home:

  • Oakland Housing Secure
  • Keep Oakland Housed (KOH)

Both programs provide free legal assistance and emergency financial assistance to low-income tenants and homeowners at risk of displacement. Please contact the programs below for more information:

Covid-19 Financial Assistance - AVAILABLE May 17th!
