The Holly Mini Park Renovation Project is a collaboration between the City, the community, Oakland Parks and Recreation Foundation (OPRF), private donors, and the Safety Impact Table, which adopted the Project as one of its violence prevention strategies.
Holly Park was dedicated approximately 50 years ago. When the project kicked off in 2019, the park had not been renovated in years and was sorely in need of repair. The design of the new park and playground responds to community-articulated needs by providing a greater variety of activities, more seating, more shade, and a cleaner aesthetic. By expanding access to safe outdoor space, Holly Mini Park will support social cohesion and promote physical activity.
The renovation was managed by Oakland Public Works, with final design developed by Dillingham Associates. The City is grateful to the many individuals and organizations that contributed to this effort. A partial list appears below.
