The Oakland Police Department (OPD) has seen two recent residential robberies in East Oakland, where suspects dressed in plain clothes verbally identify themselves as police officers. To keep our community informed and safe, we are issuing this safety advisory

In Oakland, almost 20 percent of young children in the Head Start program face housing insecurity. This challenge hinders families' ability to consistently and punctually attend the preschool program, leading some to withdraw. To address this, the city has allocated half a million dollars to a mobile classroom initiative aimed at reaching these children.
