Today the Oakland City Council voted unanimously to pass the Emergency Paid Sick Leave For Oakland Employees measure introduced by Councilmember Sheng Thao and her colleagues Councilmembers Fortunato Bas, Kalb, and Taylor. It is important that we prepare our homes, properties, parks, and city for wildfire season. In order to best prepare, I have partnered with Councilmembers Dan Kalb and Loren Taylor in order to host a virtual 'town hall' on wildfire prevention today Monday, May 11, 5:30-7pm.

Oakland Mutual Aid Collective is organized by intergenerational women of color, who work to distribute basic needs supplies in their respective communities, which are disproportionally impacted by the spread of COVID-19.
We are fundraising to procure and rapidly distribute 30,000 reusable cloth face masks, public health information, and hand sanitizer to Oakland’s unhoused, low-income families, seniors, BIPOC, children and youth.

Our offices will be hosting a virtual Small Business Town Hall on Monday, April 27th at 2 PM. The Town Hall will give District 4 businesses a chance to learn about what resources are available to them during this time, and ask questions directly to Economic and Workforce Development staff.
