This meeting of the Bicyclist and Pedestrian Advisory Commission (BPAC) was held on September 7, 2023 at 3:30pm

THIS IS AN IN-PERSON MEETING.

How to Participate in this Public Meeting:

  • Enter the 250 Frank Ogawa Plaza building from the plaza, across from City Hall.
  • Sign in at the security desk and proceed to the elevators.
  • Ask the elevator attendant to provide access to the 4th floor.
  • Follow the posted signs to the Lake Merritt Conference Room from the 4th floor elevators.

Remote participation including public comment via teleconferencing is not available at this time. Hybrid meetings may commence once the City of Oakland has established meeting procedures and allocated resources for simultaneously supporting in-person and remote participation. All Commission meetings will include procedures to comply with the open meeting requirements of the City’s Sunshine Ordinance and the State’s Brown Act.

  1. OakDOT Paving Projects Review

    OakDOT staff, including Ben Granberry (BGranberry@oaklandca.gov) (presenting for Sarah Fine (SFine@oaklandca.gov)) reviewed upcoming paving project plans, including those for E 8th St and Franklin St, and accept comments and input from the committee on bicyclist and pedestrian design elements.

  2. Citywide Bicyclist & Pedestrian Spot Improvements Project

    OakDOT’s Jason Patton (JPatton@oaklandca.gov), Jason Cook (JCook2@oaklandca.gov), and David Pené (DPene@oaklandca.gov) led a review and discussion of draft plans and candidate locations for spot bicyclist and pedestrian improvements anticipated for delivery through the City’s on-call construction contracts.

  3. Broadway and MLK Jr. Way Streetscape Improvements

    Transportation Engineer Beaver Boonsook (BBoonsook@oaklandca.gov) and Transportation Planner Ruth Meza (RMeza@oaklandca.gov) from the Major Projects Division provided an update on the Broadway Streetscape Improvements and the MLK Jr. Way Streetscape Improvements. The presentation will include a summary of engagement, what was heard, and the current designs of the projects.
