This is a special meeting of the Bicyclist and Pedestrian Advisory Commission (BPAC)

THIS IS AN IN-PERSON MEETING, rescheduled from the regular meeting date of January 4, 2024.

How to Participate in this Public Meeting:

  • Enter the 250 Frank Ogawa Plaza building from the plaza, across from City Hall.
  • Sign in at the security desk and proceed to the elevators.
  • Ask the elevator attendant to provide access to the 4th floor.
  • Follow the posted signs to the Broadway Conference Room from the 4th floor elevators.

Remote participation including public comment via teleconferencing is not available at this time. Hybrid meetings may commence once the City of Oakland has established meeting procedures and allocated resources for simultaneously supporting in-person and remote participation. All Commission meetings will include procedures to comply with the open meeting requirements of the City’s Sunshine Ordinance and the State’s Brown Act.

  1. Oakland Bike Plan Implementation Review & Discussion

    The City of Oakland's Bicycle and Pedestrian Program staff will provide an overview and analysis on the implementation of the 2019 citywide bicycle plan to date, including an evaluation of bike plan proposals that were implemented and not implemented as part of projects constructed since 2019.

  2. 7th Street East Port of Oakland Project, Bike/Walk Access Construction Mitigation

    Port of Oakland Senior Maritime Projects Administrator Pia Franzese will provide a presentation on how the construction of the 7th Street Grade Separation East project (Bay Street to Maritime Street) will affect access to the Bay Trail during construction, and an update on other improvements proposed along 7th Street.

  3. 7th Street Connection Project

    The City of Oakland’s DOT (OakDOT) Major Projects Division will provide an update and accept input on the 7th Street Connection Project from Mandela Parkway to MLK Jr Way in West Oakland. The project aims to reconnect West Oakland and Downtown, create safer and more comfortable ways to travel for those walking, rolling, and taking the bus, improve air quality, and reflect the rich history of 7th Street.
