The Howard Terminal Community Benefits Agreement (CBA) process launched on Saturday, January 11, 2020 with the CBA Orientation at Preservation Park, with over 150 community members, advocates, and other Oakland stakeholders in attendance. The orientation included a presentation by Darlene Flynn, Director of the Department of Race and Equity, and concluded with the attendees assembling into the CBA Topic Cohorts that they are interested in. Seven Topic Cohorts have been identified for the Howard Terminal CBA: Economic Development, Housing, Transportation, Community Health & Safety, Education, Environment, and Community History/Culture Keeping. The Topic Cohorts were identified based on engagement with community members, advocates, and other Oakland stakeholders in 2019. As the CBA process evolves, there may be additional topics introduced.

The first meeting of Topic Cohorts will be next Wednesday, January 22, 2020 from 6:30pm-8:30pm at the CSU East Bay Oakland Center.

All seven Topic Cohorts will gather at the January 22ndand will break into their cohorts after brief introductory remarks. If you are interested in being considered to represent your Topic Cohort on the Steering Committee, please plan to attend both Topic Cohort meetings. Additionally, if you were unable to attend the CBA Orientation but wish to remain involved, please plan to attend the Topic Cohort meetings listed below and additionally plan to attend a future make-up orientation for which more information will be forthcoming. Childcare will be provided at all meetings.
