City of Oakland Standard Design Detail for Sidewalks and Driveways

Helpful Notes on Sidewalk Repairs:

Standard concrete mix for sidewalks is 520-C-2500 with a pound or pint of “lamp Black” per cubic yard. Lamp black is a coloring agent that tints concrete grey.

When doing a repair or replacement, match the thickness of concrete with the surrounding sidewalk but do not pour less than 3 ½”.

When ordering concrete from a batch plant, ask for “Oakland City mix” then you will generally get the right mix. If you are is conducting a repair on your own (for repairs under 25 sq feet), then the ready mix product at home improvement stores have the appropriate mixture.
