These are the minutes for the July 10, 2019 meeting of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission (PRAC). Due to the lack of a sufficient quorum, Consent New Business items 6C-6E and New Business items 7A-7D were approved administratively by the Director of Oakland Parks, Recreation and Youth Development. On April 10, 2019, the Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission (PRAC) heard and voted on six (6) recommendations for approval including: the installation of a split-rail fence on the east bank of Sausal Creek at El Centro Avenue in Dimond Canyon; a bench dedication to Sharon Webster Kidder and John Kidder located in the Gardens at Lake Merrit; the OneLife Institute poetry reading and live band concert at Lake Merritt Sailboat House on October 6, 2019; a Walk/Run event sponsored by the Obsessive-Compulsive Foundation at Lake Merritt on June 8, 2019; Oakland Rising’s Progressive Party and Townie Awards Fundraiser on June 20, 2019 at Lakeside Park Garden Center; Renaming Nicol Park to Gwen Jackson Park.
