Employment Investigations and Civil Rights Compliance

We provide comprehensive services to ensure compliance with federal and state civil rights employment laws and City policy that prohibits harassment, discrimination and retaliation based on a person’s legally protected status in the workplace. Our office administers a discrimination/harassment complaint process for employees and applicants for employment. Our services include investigations, compliance audits, training, counseling, mediation and coaching. These services are provided to support the City’s commitment to cultivate a culture of excellence, respect, and professionalism, and a work environment free from unlawful discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.

CITY OF OAKLAND REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP) FOR

ON-CALL INVESTIGATIONS SERVICES

Contract Amount: Not to Exceed $65,000/year per contract

Contract Terms: Three Years, with Two One- Year Option to Renew

Required License: Private investigator licensed to practice in the State of California

Project Description: This RFP is issued by the City of Oakland, City Administrator Office Employment Investigation and Civil Rights Compliance Department to solicit proposals for certified investigators experienced in all aspects associated with conducting personnel, employment and equal employment opportunity investigations. The service is on an as-needed basis with multiple contractors, and the City will negotiate the scope of services, budget, deliverables and timeline for each investigation assigned. There is no guarantee of a minimum amount of work or compensation for any of the respondents selected. The City may select Consultants in its sole and absolute discretion. The contract will be awarded to the most qualified applicant(s) who demonstrates the appropriate experience in conducting investigations
