Rainbow Recreation Center

The newly renovated Rainbow Recreation Center serves the East Oakland Community with recreational activities for all ages. The center features the Jason Richardson Gymnasium, lighted outdoor basketball courts, soccer/flag football field, playground, toddler play area, commercial kitchen, patio area, computer lab, and community room.

Redwood Heights Recreation Center

The Redwood Heights Recreation Center is also currently CLOSED to the public until further notice. updated 9/23/22. We are only allowing participants in programs to be inside the facility. At this time, we are no longer allowing inside rentals. Please contact Central Reservations for a list of facilities that they are taking reservations for. Located in the beautiful Oakland hills, Redwood Heights Recreation Center is a great weekend rental location. The center offers a wide variety of programming serving community members of all ages. The most popular activities are Cooking classes for children, Karate, Town Camp - Redwood Hts, Town Camp - , and Town After School Program. Join us for one of our adult classes of Karate, Tai Chi, Yoga, or Toastmasters.

Rent a Boat

The Lake Merritt Boating Center is now on its winter schedule and has adjusted its operating hours to weekends only (Saturday-Sunday) from 11am-4pm. For more information, please call the front desk @ 510-238-2196.

Rent a Pool

Why not rent one of Oakland’s pools for your next pool party? Lifeguard service and deposit required. We have indoor and outdoor pools available for rental.

Rent a Sports Field

The City of Oakland Parks & Recreation has 52 multi-use fields ranging from football, baseball, softball to soccer. Fields are available for rent to accommodate your sporting events from leagues, tournaments, practices to private parties.
