Michael Banzon

Michael joins us with a Corporate Sales and Tech Industry background. He has worked at Four Seasons, Tesla, Paligroup Management, and Apple.

He is a Bay Area native that is passionate about community volunteerism and engagement. His excitement for local government stemmed from a POLISCI 1 class assignment. A letter to the editor of the Oakland Tribune on water conservation started that journey.

As a nontraditional student, he earned an Associate’s Degree in Political Science at Berkeley City College, following his transfer to U.C. Berkeley where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Rhetoric. Throughout his career, continual engagement with local initiatives have always been a constant.

In his free time, Michael is exploring with his wife and two kids. He enjoys fixed gear cycling, aggressive inline skating, and speed-cubing.

Michael is proud to be joining The City of Oakland and Councilmember Sheng Thao’s team.
