Oakland's 2020 Energy and Climate Action Plan

Oakland's 2020 Energy and Climate Action Plan (ECAP) was adopted by the City Council on December 4th, 2012. The purpose of the City's first ECAP is to identify and prioritize actions the City can take to reduce energy consumption and GHG emissions associated with Oakland.​ The ECAP also establishes how to coordinate implementation of those actions and how to track progress. The ECAP assists the City of Oakland in continuing its legacy of leadership on energy, climate and sustainability issues.

Oakland's Economic Recovery

As Oakland emerges from the COVID-19 pandemic, the Economic Recovery Plan will serve as a blueprint for achieving short-term goals over the next nine months to create a more equitable and inclusive economy. The goal is a more just long-term business recovery that works for all Oaklanders.

Oakland's Sustainability Awards

Oakland has a strong legacy of environmental leadership, and has been recognized as a top ten green and sustainable U.S. city eight times in the last several years, including recently being ranked 4th among large U.S. cities by both the Natural Resources Defense Council and the Mother Nature Network.

Occupy Oakland Public Reports

The Oakland Police Department is dedicated to policing in a manner that is both constitutional and ethical. During the Occupy Oakland operations, our goal was to facilitate free speech and peaceful demonstrations.

Officer Involved Shootings and Discharges of Less Lethal Munitions

By law, the public has a right to records relating to the report, investigation, or findings of an incident involving the discharge of a firearm at a person by an officer. This includes use of less lethal rounds when discharged by a firearm. These records are disclosable even when the officer's discharge is exonerated.

OIG Ad Hoc

The OIG Adhoc Committee is tasked with reviewing and discussing audits, policies, reports and recommendations of the Office of the Inspector General and serve as a thought partner in the work. Discussions with OIG will be of a confidential nature aligned with 604(f)2 Charter provision regarding shared access of information between the OIG and the OPC to inform their work.
