When City inspectors identify a defective sidewalk without the presence of an official City tree, a Notice to Repair (NTR) is sent to the property owner. Upon this notice, the property owner is required to repair the sidewalk within 30 days. If the owner fails to do so, the City may repair the sidewalk and bill the property owner. If the owner doesn't pay for the repairs, a tax lien will be placed on the property.
