Tenants may be able to file for an extension of an Ellis Act eviction due to disability or age. Tenants must file Form 6 with the Rent Adjustment Program. This form will be served to the owner 60 days after the filing of Form 4.
Form 7 will be filed 30 days after the owner receives Form 6. Form 7 is a notice to the owner about the request for an extension.
The owner may request more information about the grounds for the extension request using Form 8. The form should be given to the tenant within 15 days of the owner getting Form 6.
The tenant may respond to the owner's request for more information using Form 9. The tenant should send the completed Form 9 to the owner within 30 days of getting Form 8.
