Arts, Culture & Creativity Month

Mayor Kevin Jenkins Declares April 2025 as Arts, Culture & Creativity Month

In 2019, Arts, Culture & Creativity Month was declared by the California Senate in a concurrent resolution to be held every April to recognize and celebrate the arts in California.

In recognition of this state-wide resolution, City of Oakland Mayor Kevin Jenkins has declared April 2025 as Arts, Culture & Creativity Month in Oakland! Read the full Mayoral Proclamation here, highlighting the importance of arts, culture, and creativity to our city’s economic vitality, safety, and wellness.

The City of Oakland’s Cultural Affairs Division is partnering with CA for the Arts to raise visibility and awareness about the value of our sector, to empower arts advocates to take action, and to spur greater investments in our industry and workforce. See the list of special events below, including an Oakland celebration at the Oakland Museum of California on April 18.
