Oakland Vegetation Management Plan

The Vegetation Management (Plan) will cover more than 1,400 acres of City property plus treatment areas approximately 300 miles of roadside. Vegetation management activities conducted on these lands currently includes goat grazing on nine sites covering approximately 1,300 acres, vegetation clearing along 16 roadways (58 miles), monitoring for vegetation clearance along approximately 300 miles of road within the High and Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zones (16.5 square miles), and brush clearance on critical City-owned properties (~332 acres). The Plan and EIR will evaluate these and additional vegetation management practices to reduce fire hazard.

Public Lands Strategy and Policy

Sanitary Sewer Master Plan

The Sanitary Sewer Master Plan evaluates the sewer network for both capital and maintenance needs improving asset management processes using state of the art technologies.

Sausal Creek Restoration Project

The project features improved visibility of the creek, an ADA-accessible interpretive pedestrian pathway, enhanced native rainbow trout habitat, new native trees and vegetation, and a new public restroom. This site will offer creek-related educational opportunities while improving water quality and flood control, creating habitat, reducing erosion, and protecting the adjacent roadway and homes.

St Andrews Plaza

The renovation of St. Andrew's Plaza is substantially complete, with the exception of some signage that has yet to be installed. Community partnership/stewardship programs are now being formed that are necessary for the Plaza's success.

Telegraph Plan | 2014

The goals of the Telegraph Avenue Complete Streets Plan is to improve safety and accessibility for all users, make the street more comfortable and enjoyable for people walking and biking, and balance the needs and convenience of all users.
