The Oakland Police Department (OPD) is asking for the community’s assistance in solving the homicide of Shamieka Mabery, which occurred on February 24, 2023, in the 6900 block of International Boulevard. 

The Oakland Police Department (OPD) is investigating a commercial armed robbery that occurred just before 10:15 p.m. on June 15, 2025, in the 2400 block of MacArthur Boulevard. 

The Oakland Police Department (OPD) has arrested Deshaun Mays in connection with the homicide of Sirjewel Brooks, which occurred on May 23, 2025, in the 1400 block of 90th Avenue. Mays was arrested on June 11, 2025.

The Oakland Police Department (OPD) is asking for the community’s assistance in solving the homicide of Bert Brigham III, which occurred on July 18, 2021, in the 1900 block of Foothill Boulevard. Brigham was 24 years old at the time of his death.

The Oakland Police Department (OPD) Alcohol Beverage Action Team (ABAT) investigated an unlicensed smoke shop in West Oakland. On June 6, 2025, the ABAT team responded to tips from community members indicating that illegal activity was taking place at a shop in the 3200 Block of Martin Luther King Jr. Way.

The Oakland Police Department (OPD) is investigating multiple crimes that occurred on June 10, 2025. Around 8:40 p.m., OPD officers responded to a vehicle collision at the intersection of 34th Avenue and International Boulevard. While at the scene, several people threw objects at the officers, damaging a fully marked police vehicle and cracking its windshield. Fortunately, the officer was not injured. 

The investigation began in February of this year, following a robbery in West Oakland involving a group of individuals. When officers attempted a traffic stop on the suspect’s vehicle, the driver intentionally struck two vehicles, one of which was a fully marked police vehicle, as they avoided being arrested.

The Oakland Police Department requests assistance from our community and media partners in locating Missing Person Fernando Cruzescalante, who is at risk due to a medical condition.
