OPD Crackdown Leads to Multiple Arrests, Firearm Recovery

A month-long investigation by the Oakland Police Department (OPD) Ceasefire Section has resulted in several arrests and the recovery of nearly a dozen firearms.

This investigation originated from an armed carjacking and takeover robbery that occurred on January 30, 2025, in East Oakland. Investigators suspect that the arrested individuals were involved in multiple violent crimes throughout the Bay Area, with the most recent incident occurring this week.

On February 27, 2025, OPD’s Ceasefire Section, in collaboration with the Special Resources Section (SRS), Criminal Investigation Division (CID), the U.S. Marshals Task Force, the ATF, Task Force Officers, Antioch Police, Pittsburg Police, and Merced Police, served multiple residential search warrants across the Bay Area.

As a result of this investigation, seven individuals, three of whom are juveniles, were arrested. It is believed that they committed numerous violent offenses, including homicide, shootings, armed street robberies, burglaries, and escape from a juvenile facility.

During the searches, officers recovered 10 firearms, including an assault-style weapon, a large amount of cash, ammunition, and other evidence linked to criminal activity.

This remains an active investigation. The case is now with the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office for review and potential charges.

OPD is committed to working with our law enforcement partners to hold those responsible for violent crimes accountable and ensure the safety of our community.

We also thank our community members for their ongoing support and cooperation.
