More than 60 People Arrested During Enforcement Efforts

The Oakland Police Department (OPD), in partnership with the California Highway Patrol (CHP), completed its enhanced enforcement efforts during the 2025 NBA All-Star Weekend in the Bay Area. With an increase in visitors and activities in Oakland, OPD prioritized public safety through proactive policing.

From Wednesday to Sunday, the combined efforts of OPD and CHP led to:

• More than 60 arrests, including 44 felony arrests and 18 driving under the influence (DUI) arrests.

• 177 traffic citations issued.

• 6 firearms recovered.

Some arrests were connected to crimes such as homicide, armed robbery, burglary, prostitution, and vandalism.

OPD would like to thank the residents of Oakland for their cooperation and support, CHP, other law enforcement partners, and our officers for their dedication and professionalism.

OPD remains dedicated to ensuring public safety.
