Community Tips Help OPD Interrupt Illegal Drug Activity

As part of ongoing efforts to improve public safety and address violent crime, officers assigned to the Oakland Police Department (OPD) Special Resource Section (SRS) West arrested an individual in connection with illegal drug activity.

On April 10, 2025, in the area of 14th Street and Madison Street, OPD Officers observed an individual in possession of a large amount of marijuana. Officers searched two vehicles connected with the individual and found a firearm with a large capacity magazine, drugs, and cash. The individual was taken into custody.

Community members reported illegal activity in the area, which led to the arrest in this case. If you witness or have information about illegal drug activity, you can report it confidentially to OPD’s Drug Hotline at (510) 238-DRUG (3784).

OPD remains committed to proactive policing to improve public safety and will continue to take steps to prevent violence and ensure the safety and well-being of our community members.
