OPD Focused Enforced Stop Leads to the Recovery of a Firearm

The Oakland Police Department (OPD) arrested an individual in connection to an armed robbery that occurred near 20th Street and Marin Way.

On February 4, 2022, just after 10:30 PM, in the 2000 block of 82nd Avenue, OPD Violence Suppression patrol officers recognized a vehicle matching the description of one used in a robbery on January 23, 2022.

Officers conducted a focused enforced stop, searched the vehicle, and recovered a privately made firearm (Ghost-gun). The individual was transported to Santa Rita Jail and is facing several firearm-related offenses.

This year OPD has recovered more than 150 firearms, a 70% increase over this time last year.
