OPD Recovers Semi-Automatic Firearms, Drugs, and Cash During Illegal Casino Bust

The Oakland Police Department (OPD) is investigating an illegal casino operation located in the 1900 block of 17th Avenue. OPD Community Resource Officers (CRO’s) conducted a month-long investigation into the concerns and complaints of community members surrounding the illegal activity.

A search warrant was executed on August 31, 2022. Officers conducted a methodical search of the location and recovered four semi-automatic firearms, 15 pounds of suspected marijuana, 12 gaming machines, and $3,000 cash.

Through the diligent collaboration of OPD’s CRO’s, Violent Crime Operations Center (VCOC), Intel, Vice, and Electronic Services Units, four individuals were safely detained.

This is an ongoing investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact OPD at (510) 238-3728.
