Arrest Made in ATM Machine Theft

The Oakland Police Department (OPD) has investigated over 2,400 robberies this year, down 2% from the same time last year.

On November 6, 2022, OPD investigated a robbery that occurred at a business in the 8400 block of International Boulevard, just after 1:00 AM. During the incident, three individuals entered a business and loaded the automated teller machine (ATM) into a vehicle prior to fleeing the scene.

During the preliminary investigation, officers were able to obtain surveillance footage of the involved individuals from the business.

On December 1, 2022, one of the identified individuals from the surveillance video arrived at the OPD Police Administration Building (PAB) to retrieve property. Due to the keen eye of an OPD officer, the individual was safely taken into custody.

OPD officers continue to be vigilant toward individuals who engage in criminal activity in our community.

This investigation is still active. Anyone with information is asked to contact the OPD Robbery Unit at (510)238-3326.
