Homicide Investigation in the 8200 block of D Street

On January 17, 2021, Oakland police officers responded to the 8200 block of D Street on a report of a shooting. A male adult Oakland resident sustained gunshot wound(s) and was transported to an area hospital for medical treatment.

On January 21, 2021, the victim succumbed to his injuries. Oakland Police Homicide Investigators responded to the scene and began the follow-up investigation into the circumstances surrounding the apparent homicide. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification to next of kin. Anyone with information can contact the Homicide Section at (510) 238-3821 or the TIP LINE at 238-7950.
