On January 1, 2021, at about 12:59 AM, the Oakland Police Department responded to the 4100 block of Santa Rita Street for a shooting that had just occurred. Upon arrival, officers located a male adult Oakland resident suffering from gunshot wound(s). The victim was treated by medical personnel and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Oakland Police Homicide Investigators responded to the scene and began the follow-up investigation into the circumstances surrounding the apparent shooting. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification to next of kin.
