The Oakland Police Department’s Special Victims Section is issuing a public safety advisory to our community members.

The Special Victims Section was made aware of a male individual who is exhibiting aggressive behavior towards women in the areas of West Grand and Broadway, and the 500 block of Thomas L. Berkley Way. It was reported the suspect used threatening sexual language and physically assaulted a woman.

We need our community’s help in identifying the suspect. If you have been a victim or have any information, please contact the Special Victims Section at 510-238-3641.

Safety Tips:

  • Always be aware of your surroundings.
  • When possible park in well-lit and populated areas.
  • If someone attempts to assault you scream and draw attention, defend yourself, create distance, and call the police.
  • If you think you’re being followed or watched immediately go to an opened business, security, ambassadors, or other people in the area and call the police.
