Beginning September 14, the Office of the City Clerk will resume receiving passport applications. The current processing times for passports are as follows: Routine Processing: 10 -12 weeks, Expedited Processing: 4-6 weeks.
The Clerk’s office will resume its previous passport appointment windows of 30 minutes each, beginning from 9:00 am, to 12:00 pm, with the last morning appointment at 11:30 am, 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm with the last afternoon appointment at 3:30 pm, Monday through Thursday and 9:00 am to 12:00 pm with the last appointment being at 11:30 am on Friday.
With the Shelter in Place mandate still in place, the Clerk’s office asks that no more than four people per social bubble schedule appointments during the 30-minute timeslot and that customers practice social distancing while in the reception area during their appointments. Good news! The Clerk’s office can now take credit card payments for your City of Oakland fees (acceptance fees, passport photo fees, overnighting your application to the Department of State). Fees payable to the Department of State (passport application fees, 1-2 day delivery of passport) must be paid by check or money order.
