On November 28, 2020, at approximately 11:50 PM, the Communications Division received reports of a shooting in the 8700 block of Hillside Street. Officers responded to the scene and located a female adult victim, a non-Oakland resident, suffering from a gunshot wound. Oakland Fire Department personnel and Falck ambulance crew additionally responded to the scene and provided medical treatment. Unfortunately, the victim succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Oakland Police Homicide Investigators responded to the scene and began the follow-up investigation into the circumstances surrounding the apparent shooting. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification to next of kin.
