Homicide Investigation in the 1400 block of 89th Avenue

On Thursday, October 15th, 2020, at approximately 8:27 PM, Oakland Police Patrol Officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of 89th Avenue to investigate a Shotspotter activation.

On Thursday, October 15th, 2020, at approximately 8:27 PM, Oakland Police Patrol Officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of 89th Avenue to investigate a Shotspotter activation. Officers arrived on the scene and located two male adult victims and a female adult victim (all Oakland residents) suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Oakland Fire Department personnel and Falck ambulance crew also responded to the scene. Medical attention was provided to the victims. The first male victim was pronounced deceased on the scene. The other victims were transported to a local hospital and are currently listed in stable condition.

Oakland Police Homicide Investigators responded to the scene and began the follow-up investigation into the circumstances surrounding the apparent shooting. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification to next of kin.
