Homicide Investigation in the 1100 block of 98th Avenue

On July 26, 2020, at approximately 5:30 pm, Oakland Police Patrol Officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of 98th Avenue to investigate the report of a male on the ground bleeding.

On July 26, 2020, at approximately 5:30 pm, Oakland Police Patrol Officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of 98th Avenue to investigate the report of a male on the ground bleeding. Upon their arrival, officers located an unresponsive male adult (Oakland resident) suffering from apparent blunt force trauma.

Officers arrived on the scene and the victim was transported to an area hospital. On September 9, 2020, Homicide Investigators were notified the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

Oakland Police Homicide Investigators responded to the scene and began the follow-up investigation into the circumstances surrounding the apparent shooting. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification to next of kin.
