The City of Oakland's Head Start Program has made the difficult decision to keep the centers and home-based program closed through the end of the school year in June. This decision was made in line with the coordinated efforts of public health officials to slow the spread of COVID-19.

While Head Start Centers are currently physically closed, the program is still available to provide remote assistance to Head Start families. Family Advocates, Home Visitors, and Center Directors are available for support and guidance. The program will continue to provide food, groceries, diapers, and another essential supplies through weekly distributions.

Please contact Head Start at (510) 238-3165, or visit Head Start COVID-19 Support and Information for support and resources during this time.
