Please visit OaklandRecycles.com for detailed set out instructions and a list of acceptable materials. It’s important that customers comply with the set out instructions to avoid additional charges. All customers will be mailed an instructional postcard after scheduling an appointment.

Renters living in apartment buildings may request an appointment from their property manager. They may also schedule directly at (510) 613-8710 if the property manager has submitted a pre-authorization form. The form is available OaklandRecycles.com/bulky-pickup-services.

The resumption of Curbside Bulky Pickup will bring an end to the Davis Street Self-Haul Bulky Drop-Off Appointment Service announced in May shortly after curbside pickups were suspended. The free drop-off service will end June 30. Regular services at the Davis Street facility will continue.

Trash, compost and recycling collection services are vital to our community. Waste Management of Alameda County, Inc. (WMAC) continues to provide regularly scheduled collection of trash and compostable materials for all Oakland residents and businesses while California Waste Solutions (CWS) continues to provide collection of recycling.

Bulky Pickup Service has been provided in Oakland for many years, and in 2015 was expanded to become available to all residents of Oakland apartment buildings. It is a key service highlighted in the Oaktown PROUD campaign to reduce illegal dumping, as it provides relief to residents facing rising cost-of-living challenges throughout Oakland.

Contact the City’s Recycling Hotline at 510-238-7283 or recycling@oaklandca.gov if there are any problems with your trash, compost, recycling services.
