To our community members,

In accordance with the orders of the Alameda County Health Officer and Governor Newsom to shelter in place, we want you to know how regular business of the Office of the City Clerk has changed.

Office Access and In-Person Services

At this time, the Offices of the City Clerk are inaccessible for walk-in services during its regular office hours and all in-person services are suspended until further notice. This includes processing passport applications, Domestic Partnerships, Residency Verification, viewing of FPPC Form 700s and 501s, viewing of agenda materials, walk-in filing of public records requests, immediate disclosure requests and walk-in requests to purchase DVDs of Council/Committee/Boards/Commissions meetings.

Online Services

We continue to support the following online services:

View Form 700 filings at https://public.netfile.com/pub/?aid=COAK.

Filing of public records requests at https://oaklandca.nextrequest.com/

Request DVDs of past Council/Committee/Boards/Commission meetings at https://www.oaklandca.gov/services/order-ktop-program-copies.

View past and future meetings of the City Council, the agendas and related agenda reports at https://oakland.legistar.com/calendar.aspx.

City Council and Committee Meetings

At this time regular meetings of the Oakland City Council and its council committees have been cancelled for the month of April.

As we move forward, Special and Emergency meetings may be called and may occur on days other than Tuesday. We will continue to use the e-genda to provide notice of all scheduled meetings and the webpage at https://oakland.legistar.com/calendar.aspx for posted notices. If you’d like to subscribe to the e-genda please email areed@oaklandca.gov a request to be added.

Public Meeting Participation

The City will use Zoom to allow public participation at public meetings to occur by phone, computers, tablets, and/or other devices. The Zoom information will be sent out with meeting notices as meetings are called. Additionally, the use of paper speaker cards is suspended. An alternative option for participation is to use the e-comment feature on the agenda calendar page which can be accessed at: https://oakland.legistar.com/calendar.aspx. When on the page, scroll to the far right to access e-comment. Please note that you will only be allowed to comment on active meetings and not past meetings.

We thank you for your patience during this time.
