The Oakland Department of Transportation (OakDOT) is about to kick off Let's Bike Oakland, an update to our citywide bike plan. As part of the effort, we are using a mobile application (app) called Ride Report. This mobile application will help us learn where people are biking and how they feel while biking in Oakland.
The best part of Ride Report is that once you set it up, you can forget about it. The mobile application automatically figures out when you ride your bike - no need to remember to push start or stop. At the end of your trip, the app will prompt you to rate your trip right from the lock screen. Your data will be aggregated anonymously. This will help OakDOT learn the most popular, stressful, and comfortable routes according to you - the people biking in Oakland.
We will also send communications about the Let's Bike Oakland through the mobile application. Notifications only occur at the end of a bike trip, so no spam. We will be setting up partnerships with local businesses so you can get rewards for riding your bike and using the app. Stay tuned for more details.
Download the mobile application from the App or Play store, or go to ridereportapp.com
