These are the minutes for the July 10, 2019 meeting of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission (PRAC). Due to the lack of a sufficient quorum, Consent New Business items 6C-6E and New Business items 7A-7D were approved administratively by the Director of Oakland Parks, Recreation and Youth Development. Items 6A and 6B were not presented. The following organizations and events were included on the agenda: The California Dragon Boat Association (CCDBA) - Dragon Boat Races and Cultural Festival at Lakeside Park and Lake Merritt Sailboat House on Saturday, September 28, 2019 and Sunday, September 29, 2018,10:00am-5:00pm; American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) - Out of The Darkness Walk at Lakeside Park Pergola on Saturday, October 19, 2019, 6:00am – 9:30am;Oakland East Bay Garden Center, Inc. and Friends of the Gardens at Lake Merritt (FGLM) - Annual Autumn Lights Festival/Fundraiser at Lakeside Park Garden Center and the Gardens at Lake Merritt on Thursday, October 17, 2019 – Saturday, October 19, 2019, 6:00pm-11:00pm; On Your Mark Events - Dia De Los Muertos 5K Run at Lakeside Park (Picnic tables near the Sailboat House) on Saturday, November 2, 2019, 9:00am-10:30am; The Ethiopian Community Cultural Center - The Ethiopian New Year Celebration at Lakeside Park (Bandstand and Beach Area) Sunday, September 8, 2019, 12:00pm-7:00pm; Hiero Day, LLC - 1st Hiero Family event at Defremery Park on Saturday, August 31, 2019, 12:00pm-6:00pm; Five & Dime Tattoo Oakland and Lucky Three Seven - The Dream Day 2019 Event at Mosswood Park and Amphitheatre on Saturday, August 17, 2019, 11:00am-7:00pm.
