The PRAC reviewed two items including 1) (Item 7A) A Tree Permit Appeal for 1125 Hollywood Avenue. Appellants request the homeowner at 1125 Hollywood Avenue not be allowed to remove a Canary Island Pine tree from their property. The City’s Tree Division has determined that the tree poses a potential public safety hazard. The Commission held over the vote until the December 9, 2020 meeting, where the appellants will provide supporting information for their position from their arborist representative; 2) (Item 7B) A request for SquashDrive to conduct a feasibility study to build 2-4 portable outdoor Squash to Lowell Park in West Oakland. Squash Drive currently serves 80 black and brown Oakland youth including 4th-12th graders and college students. Sixteen of these players are ranked nationally.
