General Plan Update | Housing Workshop 1

You're invited to the first of four workshops on Oakland's Housing Element, the blueprint for housing the City’s residents, at all economic levels including low

income and households with special needs. This workshop will include:

  1. An introduction to the Housing Element and the Regional Housing Needs Allocation;
  2. The overall process and criteria used to decide where the City should plan for new housing in Oakland; and
  3. Activities and community discussion on where housing sites and strategies for increasing housing production should be prioritized.

Your input at this workshop will help guide Oakland's housing sites inventory, a part of the Housing Element that shows where new housing for all income levels could be developed and how much housing could potentially be created.
